Acquired reading difficulty (medical term: "alexia") is very common after a stroke or brain injury.
This page is for people with aphasia who are able to read short books independently.
These materials focus on higher level cognitive skills required for reading at the multi-paragraph and multi-page level.
TARGET: Use this reading guide to practice reading comprehension, vocabulary, working memory, and sustained/alternating attention. Read aloud to improve fluency with oral reading.
Atlas Aphasia Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
